demandante de servicios de salud con calidad y calidez.

Tras 106 años de vida, el Hospital General de México no

ith this special edition dedicated to the General Hospital
ofMexico, Protocolo demonstrates once again its ability to
innovate and engage in various subjects and projects of interest
toMexico and the world.
Health is an area of challenges and opportunities. Govern-
ments, private enterprise and the general public have rights
and obligations to achieve quality health services.
Inaugurated on February 5, 1905 by former president Porfirio
Diaz, theGeneralHospital ofMexico is the cradle ofMexicanmed-
icine. Its statisticsare impressive: 55buildings,more than six thou-
sand employees, 40 specialties, 42000 surgeriesa year, a thousand
126bedsandan insurmountablehuman resources team composed
of anumber of doctorswho have trainedand performedunder the
shelter of this hospital that innovates andmeets theneeds of anap-
plicant's health serviceswith quality andwarmth.
Also of great importance is to mention the field of investiga-
tion, which the hospital continuously keeps it functioning and
its human resources who contribute both nationally and glob-
ally withmajor advances inmedicine.
After 106 years of life, the General Hospital of Mexico does not
rest, on the contrary, it renovates itself and everyday, under
the guidance of its new administration assumes greater chal-
lenges that will allow it to reach its major goal: Vanguard in
