El secretario de Salud, José Ángel Córdova Villalobos, inauguró la
Ventanilla de Salud número 42 en Estados Unidos, mediante la cual los
alrededorde140milmigrantesmexicanosquevivenen la regiónde Idaho
yMontana tendrán servicios de prevención y orientaciónmédica.
Con la apertura de la Ventanilla de Salud en el Consulado deMéxico
en Boise, Idaho, se ampliará el acceso para losmigrantes a servicios
médicos locales de alta calidad, recibirán información preventiva y, en
caso de desearlo, podrán afiliarse al Seguro Popular, así como a sus
familiares que radican enMéxico.
Córdova Villalobos destacó que esta ventanilla es ejemplo del
compromiso del gobierno federal con sus migrantes, y añadió que el

grants living in the regions of IdahoandMontana,where theywill beable
to get counseling services for prevention and medical orientation. With
theopeningof theHealthDeskat theConsulateofMexico inBoise, Idaho,
the program will expand the access for migrants to local high quality
medical services, as well as the opportunity to receive preventive infor-
mationand, if desired, the chance to join the Popular Insurance(Seguro
Popular), which extends to their families who reside inMexico.
CordovaVillalobos noted that this window is an example of the federal
government's commitment to its migrants, adding that Fourth Article
of the Constitution stipulates that the population of Mexico has the
right to health, but in order to exercise it is required to have tangible
mechanisms such as Window Health, because otherwise it would be
only a legal declaration.
It is anticipated, he said, that by 2012, 50Windows of Healthwill work
in all theMexican consulates in theUS.
