Sus numerosos y reconocidos valores patrimoniales constituyen el atrac-
tivo mayor para cualquier visitante llegado a Sancti Spíritus, una provincia
localizada en la porción central de la isla y en condiciones de ofrecer otros
productos turísticos vinculados al disfrute de la naturaleza y el mar. La bien
conservada riqueza arquitectónica distingue a este lugar como una apacible
urbe que resguarda en sus límites territoriales dos de las primeras siete villas
fundadas por el colonizador Diego Velázquez de Cuéllar. La Villa de la San-
tísima Trinidad de Cuba fue declarada por la UNESCO Patrimonio Mundial
de la Humanidad.

Its numerous and recognized heritage values are the major attrac-
tion for any visitor traveling to Sancti Spiritus, a province located
in the central portion of the island. Trinidad offers other tourism
attractions linked to the enjoyment of nature and the sea. The well-
preserved architectural heritage distinguishes this place as a pea-
ceful city that guards its territorial limits in two of the first seven
villages founded by the colonizer Diego Velázquez de Cuéllar. The
Villa of the Holy Trinity of Cuba was declared as UNESCO World
Heritage Site.

Principal balneario del país y considerado su
capital turística. Dispone de aguas transpa-
rentes y de escasa profundidad. Infraestruc-
tura turística en constante desarrollo, donde
predominan los atractivos de más de 20
zonas de buceo, restaurantes, clubes noc-
turnos, discotecas, un campo de golf de 18
hoyos. Cerca se encuentra el Gran Parque
Península de Zapata. Varadero tiene una ex-
tensión de más de 20 kilómetros de playas
coloreadas por la más amplia gama de azu-
les, una quinta parte de su territorio está pro-
tegido por reservas ecológicas.

The country’s largest resort considered the
tourist´s capital. It has clear and shallow waters.
Constantly developing its tourism infrastructu-
re, today there are many attractions with more
than 20 dive sites, restaurants, nightclubs, dis-
cos and a golf course with 18 holes. Nearby is
the Great Park Zapata Peninsula. Varadero has
an area of over 12.5 miles of beaches colored by
the widest range of blues; a fifth of its territory is
protected by ecological reserves.
