La audiología es una rama de la otorrinolarin-
gología que estudia la audición, especialmente
los trastornosauditivosquenopuedencorregirse
pormediosmédicos. La foniatríaes la ramade la
medicinade la rehabilitaciónque tratael estudio,
diagnósticoy tratamientode laspatologíasde la
comunicación humana, por tanto, le interesan
las afectaciones del lenguaje, la audición, el

hearing impairment that can not be corrected by medical means. The
speech therapy is the branch of rehabilitationmedicine dealing with the
diagnosis and treatment of human communication disorders, therefore
interested in speech, hearing, speechand voice affectations aswell as the
oral and swallowing functions.
